Fieldfares Jan 2nd 2010

A few fieldfares visited our apple trees looking for apples on the ground and rose hip berries on the trees.Last year there were many more and I think they were earlier.

  1. That's good - thrushes are supposed to be getting rarer, but maybe it needs this harsh weather to let us notice these birds. I only got a blackbird in response to putting some old apples out. There's been a pheasant traipsing round the garden, and we do normally get quite a lot of birds because of being near Bury Meadow.
